The Chase host Bradley Walsh was stunned when one of the contestants crashed out of the quiz due to a technical ruling.
Brad and the remaining team members had high hopes for complaints advisor Tracy when she banked £5,000 in the cash builder.
Things were looking good for the 49-year-old comic book fan and she was one question away from home.
But then she froze and failed to answer a question about the Royal Family in time.
Due to the ITV quizshow's rules this meant by default she had got the question wrong leaving Mark "The Beast" Labbett to catch her.
To add salt into the wound, Tracy, from Manchester, gave the correct answer to Brad after the time had run out.
Bradley said: "I am sorry to lose you like that."

But fans on Twitter were less sympathetic, one said: "You snooze, you lose."
Another said: "Absolute scenes. Why would you stand there faffing? Just press any button!"
A third added: "Timed out is bad enough, but she "would have gone" for the RIGHT ANSWER. Hell's bells."
