ITV The Chase fans thrilled as student nurse takes huge risk

Student nurse Nicola impressed The Chase viewers today as she took a big risk.

Nicola, 46, from West Yorkshire, told host Bradley Walsh she had quit her job in the construction industry two years ago to pursue a career as a mental health nurse instead.

Nicola said she was a "big party girl" but also had a love of gardening. She said if she won some cash she would buy her husband Andrew a VW campervan for them to go on road trips around the UK.

After scoring £5,000 in her cash builder Nicola went up against The Dark Destroyer, Shaun Wallace, who was tonight's Chaser.

Shaun offered Nicola a high offer of £50,000 and she decided to go for it.

Bradley said: "I think it's terrific, I really do."

And viewers were thrilled with her decision and bravery.

Annie La said: "Gutsy Yorkshire lass Nicola pulled it out of the bag there! £50K."

Holly Ponting said: "This world needs more Nicolas!"

Mrs M said: "Get in! # thechase well done Nicola!"

Jade said: "What a lass Nicola is."

And Nick said: "Omg Nicola came through with the 50K, wow wow wow. She deserves to go through. I’m so happy for her and the team."

Nicola's bravery paid off as she managed to get back to her team with the mega amount of cash.

Shaun even congratulated her and said: "Fortune favours the brave, well done."

Her team also praised her and gave her a big hug as she returned to them, just in time for the final chase.

The team set a target of 14 for Shaun to beat, but he managed to catch them with 25 seconds remaining, meaning they went home with nothing.

*The Chase continues at 5pm on ITV tomorrow
