ITV The Chase fans thrilled as new Chaser Darragh Ennis finally makes his debut

The Chase fans were thrilled tonight as the new chaser was finally revealed.

Tonight's show saw first contestant Clint, 74, chat to host Bradley Walsh about his former job.

Clint said he used to run a post office and newsagent in Cornwall, before going on to work as a tutor in a Sixth Form College.

If he won some cash Clint said he would buy a new garden shed for his wife Marilyn.

Clint got £6,000 in his cash builder and told host Bradley that he wanted to go up against Chaser Shaun.

But the Chaser that came down the runway was the new Chaser Darragh Ennis who Bradley called 'The Dublin Dynamo'.

But Darragh's official Chaser name will be Darragh ‘The Menace’ Ennis.

Darragh said: "I'll always remember you Clint, the first contestant I ever faced and the first one I sent home."

Bradley explained that Darragh was a former contestant on the show and Darragh said: "I'm the only one who knows what it feels like to be down there."

He previously appeared on the show in 2017 facing Paul.

Darragh, 40, explained he was a research scientist and was a neuroscientist specifically.

Bradley said: "Welcome to the show but, BORING."

Clint opted to go for the £6,000 and managed to get past the Chaser with ease in the head to head.

Bradley asked Darragh how it felt to not have sent Clint home.

He said: "I felt pretty good up until he got home but think he could have had £24,000."

And after weeks of teasing viewers were thrilled to see the new Chaser play.

Leanne Coull said: "A new chaser is one of the only highlights of 2020."

Ben Ramsdale said: "I just got extremely excited over the fact that there’s a new chaser on # TheChase . I’m either getting really old or lockdown has really taken its toll on me."

And Jake said: "A new chaser?! 2020 is wild."

*The Chase continues at 5pm on ITV tomorrow
