ITV The Chase fans slam 'coward' contestant who takes the easy way out

The Chase fans were left unimpressed tonight, after a contestant went for the easy option.

Musician Stewie from Cardiff wanted to buy some new recording equipment and got £6,000 in his cash builder.

The 45-year-old turned to his only remaining teammate Dave for advice on which offer to take, after he was offered £57,000 for a high offer and £1,000 for a low.

Dave said he was desperate for Stewie to get back, so told him to take the low offer if he had to.

And Stewie took his advice on board and went for the £1,000, saying he wanted to get back and split the winnings with Dave.

But predictably, Twitter went into meltdown and slammed Stewie for his actions.

Jordan Cox said: "Nothing more cowardice than going for the low offer."

Sam said: "Took the low offer? That’s treason I’m afraid."

Nicholas Painter said: "Absolute look of disgust when he took the low offer."

Even though he went for the low offer Stewie still couldn't get past The Beast, Mark Labbett, who was The Chaser this evening.

Leaving writer Dave to go up against The Chaser all on his own for the £3,000, he set a target of 11 but The Beast was quick to catch him and he went home with nothing.
