ITV The Chase fans mock Liverpool contestant's plan for winnings

The Chase fans mocked a Liverpool contestant's plan for his winnings on tonight's show.

Retired Auditor Paul appeared on the show and spoke about his pastimes, which included spending time with his grandchildren.

Paul also spoke about going out on beaches nearby his home and looking for shipwrecks and treasure.

The 66-year-old hadn't found any treasure but said he had plans for cash he might win on the show.

Paul said: "I got a fancy watch about ten years ago after I got a promotion at work, but it stopped working two years ago so I'd like to get that fixed."

And fans couldn't believe Paul had such modest ambitions for his winnings and took to social media to say so.

Helen Wright said: "I'm gonna get my watch fixed - aim high Paul - aim high."

Ginger Gazza said: "Wow. Getting ya watch fixed. You go steady mate."

Victoria said: "That’s exciting wants to get his watch mended."

And Rik's livetweets said: "I want to get my watch fixed" Jesus - he's aiming high tonight."

Sadly Paul only scored £2,000 in his cash builder and went up against The Sinnerman, who was tonight's Chaser.

And Paul couldn't get back to the team as he was caught by Paul Sinha and left with nothing.

*The Chase continues at 5pm on ITV tomorrow
