ITV The Chase: Fans love 'cute' Maisie Smith as Max George 'proposes' live on show

Fans say Maisie Smith and Max George make a 'cute couple' as they pretended to get engaged while on the Chase Celebrity Special. The former EastEnders star jumped out of her chair after Max popped the big question.

Bradley Walsh asked The Wanted singer how he knew Maisie, seemingly unaware that the pair were dating. The in-house audience then burst into laughter as the couple explained their relationship.

Bradley replied: "I didn't know. I'm so sorry," to which the audience started applauding. He then asked: "So erm, when's the big day?".

Max quickly turned to Maisie and said: "Funny you mention it, er..." and pretended to reach for a ring in his pocket. Maisie jumped from her seat as she pretended to be flustered by the proposal.

Dozens of viewers took to social media to talk about their blossoming romance. One person said: "Max George and Maisie Smith are such a cute couple."

Another said: "I changed the channel to ITV to find Maisie Smith and Owain Wyn Evans on The Chase. I love them both."

A third wrote: "Maisie Smith and Max George just watching you on ITVChase , you are both absolutely hilarious, I’m sitting here in fits, you’re brilliant."

The Chase fans were recently in awe after one contestant managed to win a whopping £75,000. Viewers were at the edge of their seats as Eden Nash went up against Darragh Ennis on the ITV quiz show.

The young brainbox came out with 18 correct answers in the final chase. After Eden won the cash, Bradley buzzed: "That is the highest ever single win in TV quiz show history - and you're only 20!" That is brilliant for a 20 year old, amazing, you scored 18 - you have to be happy with that. Extraordinary. Well played." Darragh added: "Well done."
