ITV The Chase fans left questioning contestant's bold New Zealand claim

The Chase fans were left confused tonight, after a contestant made a bold claim to one of her fellow teammates.

Investment manager Vik from London went up against The Vixen - Jenny Ryan who was The Chaser tonight.

Vik, 43, managed to score £6,000 in his cash builder and said he wanted to go to New Zealand to see an old school friend and his family.

The Vixen offered Vik a high offer of £30,000 and he turned to his teammates for advice about what he should do.

Most of his team advised him to stick with the £6,000 he'd already racked up but one teammate, marketing specialist Jenny, had some different advice.

She said: "£30,000 is a lot of money, you could go to New Zealand every year for the rest of your life with that kind of money."

Which viewers immediately jumped on, as incorrect information - with the average return plane ticket to New Zealand costing over £1,000 per person.

@rian_johnson1 said: "How much does this girl think it costs to go to New Zealand"

And Mayce_Windu said: "If Jenny thinks Vik will be able to travel to New Zealand for the rest of his life on £30,000, she can't think he's going to live for much longer!"

*The Chase continues at 5pm on ITV tomorrow
