ITV The Chase fans in uproar as woman mixes up Manchester and Birmingham with 'Manchester Evening News' answer

Host Bradley Walsh and fans watching at home couldn't believe it when a contestant on The Chase blundered in a question about the Midlands.

Contestant Jinni got it wrong when she was asked "'Black Country' and 'Villa' are sections on the website of which website?"

The options were Manchester Evening News, Birmingham Mail or Nottingham Post.

And Jinni chose the first option.

Host Bradley Walsh couldn't believe it (ITV)

"You've put the Manchester Evening News" said Bradley.

And she said not being from the north was the reason for her mistake.

"I'm not a northerner," she told the host.

"I don't think you need to be" Bradley retorted as she looked worried.

"At this point, I think you need to be from the Midlands," he said.

"The correct answer is, Black Country and Villa, yeah it's Birmingham."

"Oh no," she said, realising her mistake.

"I didn't read it properly," she admitted.

"Aston Villa I should have known."

Fans of the ITV quiz were in uproar as they took to Twitter to have their say.

@ichoosemag tweeted: "And I’m done with TV for the night."

@Figgarella said: "Apparently she isn’t from the North…..nor am I."

@Hyther12 questioned: "Black Country and Villa. Manchester?"
