ITV The Chase fans call for 'ban' after contestant's comments

The Chase viewers raised the same complaint after a contestant took the low offer on Friday's quiz show.

Bradley Walsh welcomed four new players on this week's final edition of the popular ITV programme.

Gillian, Mike, Linda and Barry were testing their wits against Darragh Ennis in a bid to win big money.

First up was Gillian, a marketing intern from Belfast.

The 22-year-old took the low offer of £1,000 after her cash builder round, and just about made it back to the table.

After a number of people were disappointed following Gillian's selection, Darragh himself tweeted: "Sometimes the low offer is the right one", to which Gillian replied: "Thank you hahaha".

When it was time for the next player, Mike, to choose which amount to play for, he consulted with his teammates to decide which of the £1,000, £3,000 or £30,000 offers to take.

Gillian told the 58-year-old he should take the £3,000 offer, and fans of the popular show were left furious after the scene played out.

Taking to Twitter, Billy James said: "Gillian goes low, tells next guy, go middle. This generation!"

Steve B said: "You took the low offer, you can't tell anyone what to take."

Belinda Green said: "As if she's told him to take the middle offer after her £1k. That should be banned."

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV and ITV Hub
