ITV The Chase contestant receives put down from The Beast as he is sent home within minutes

A contestant on The Chase received a put down from The Beast as he was caught by the Chaser and was off the ITV show within minutes. The four contestants, Gareth, Aaron, Nicky and Julie faced The Beast in Monday night's (March 6) episode of the quiz show.

Bristolian Aaron was first up to take on the Chaser and shared how he planned to take his girlfriend off to New York with his winnings. But Mark Labbett, otherwise known as The Beast, was quick to make a sarcastic jab towards Aaron, giving him a snide goodbye as he only managed to get a starting point of £1,000. Aaron said it was "not the best, but it's something”.

"Oh, dear Aaron. Well it's enough there to get ONE of you to New York!," The Beast said. Aaron responded: "I think I'll just get her to pack her bags and then at least one of us is a winner," to which Mark exclaimed he thought it was "a very wise choice".

As reported by the Daily Record, Labbett went on to offer a stingy £100 to which he sarcastically said was "a value for money" in his situation, making fun of how the quiz show was going so far, and gave a “free shot” as he gave a high offer of £35,000.

The rest of the contestants encouraged Aaron to stick to his £1,000 and return to the team. Whilst contestant Gareth said he could consider the lowest offer at £100 so they had the extra teammate in the final chase.

Aaron stuck with his £1,000 Mark sighed and said "I agree with Gareth, when you are as weak as you are take whatever will get you home!"

In the end Aaron was sent home after being caught by the Chaser, despite The Beast taking a blind guess at the last answer.

"Gareth was right, if you had taken the lower offer you would have been back home but tarrah," quipped Mark as he lapped up catching someone out so early on in the show.

The rest of Aaron’s teammates made it through to the final chase. Gareth, Nicky and Julie took on Mark in the final chase but despite getting two knockbacks on the questions they were caught out with 24 seconds remaining. Host Bradley Walsh said: "Well, we lost the money but at least we had a laugh."
