A contestant on The Chase made history by scoring £0 in the cash-builder.

Laura, Paul, Maureen and Bhagwan were up against The Governess today as they vied for the prize fund.

But Bhagwan, 28, who was the last contestant up, shocked viewers as he scored £0 in the cash-builder, having answered zero questions correctly.

Taking to Twitter fans were in uproar over the shocking round.

Anne Hegerty took on Bhagwan and lost (ITV)

David said: "I love a good zero cash builder."

Marc joked: "Should be a rule that if you get nowt in the cash builder you should have to leave the show and never be allowed on television again."

Scott wrote: "First time I’ve ever seen someone get £0 on the chase cash builder???"

Pete McCarthy tweeted: "£0 cash builder. Lol."

And John said: "Can’t believe the kid on #TheChase got £0 in the cash builder."

But it wasn't all bad news, as Bhagwan refused to opt for a minus offer and stuck to his £0.

Despite a couple of wrong answers in the head-to-head Bhagwan managed to get through to the final.

This meant his team were given an extra point as they took on The Governess.
