The Chase's Bradley Walsh was left stunned after a contestant, who he had just congratulated , shunned him.
Gaynor from Derbyshire, was on the show to try and win enough money to visit her sister in Japan.
As the first of the four contestants, she had a tough cash-builder round, but managed to secure £6000.
Despite wanting to play Mark Labbett, The Chaser was revealed to be Shaun Wallace - who throughout the episode didn't get a single question wrong.
Choosing to take the middle offer, Gaynor answered most questions correctly during the head-to-head but slipped up towards the end of the round.
Finding herself in a one-question shootout, Gaynor had to get a question about entertainment correct, if she wanted to make it through to the final chase.
Luckily, she answered correctly, meaning she had a chance at winning the prize fund.
As Bradley went to congratulate her with a handshake, Gaynor walked away - leaving The Chase host stunned.
The 40-year-old had returned to her seat, despite not receiving instructions to do so.
Bradley joked: "One player through and may I add very quickly - was it something I said?"
Viewers found the awkward moment hilarious, with many taking to Twitter.
