ITV The Celebrity Chase viewers stunned by player's new voice

ITV's The Chase Celebrity Special left viewers scratching their heads over one player's voice this evening.

Actor and television presenter Donna Air appeared on the special edition of the smash hit quiz show, which was a repeat, to try her chances against Chaser Paul 'the Sinnerman' Sinha.

Donna, 40, was well known for her Geordie accent and started her career on the popular show Byker Grove.

But her accent barely hinted at her northern roots tonight, causing a stir among fans.

Viewers were left baffled by her voice and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

James said: "what’s going on with her accent ?!"

One viewer said: "What the f*** has happened to Donna Air's voice?"

Another added: "How has Donna Air changed her voice ???"

Mick said: "Why....................Is...................She ......................Talking..................So ........................Oddly lol!!"

Stuart commented: "Has Donna Air spent the last 20 odd years trying to lose her Geordie accent?"

Carl added: "I’m old enough to remember when Donna Air was a Geordie".

Another fan said: "Didn’t Donna Air used to be a Geordie!?"

Donna was unable to beat the Sinnerman in her head-to-head and was eliminated from the show.
