ITV's This Morning receives official complaints from outraged viewers over interview with Boris Johnson

When something causes outrage, you can guarantee there will be complaints.

And it's This Morning that is currently in the firing line after an interview by show hosts Holly Willloughby and Phillip Schofield came under fire earlier this week when current Prime Minister Boris Johnson appeared on the programme.

The ITV presenting duo were accused of being "giggly" during the chat and even agreed to a selfie with the Tory leader.

This lead to wide-spread anger from viewers who claim Holly and Phil  gave Johnson an "easier" time than opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn who was also interviewed on the programme on Tuesday.

One viewer complained: "Omg didn't you take it easy on Boris Johnson, very disappointed Philip."

"The interview with Boris compared to Jeremy’s is a disgrace. Holly and Phil should be ashamed of themselves #ThisMorning," fumed another.

But now, an Ofcom spokesperson has confirmed that 149 official complaints have been made to the broadcasting watching.

They added: "We are assessing the complaint's against our broadcasting rules, but are yet to decide whether or not to investigate."

Phil did respond to those complaining over the selfie but it didn't seem to soften the blow.

The 57-year-old said: "Can I point out that if Mr Corbyn had asked for a selfie, we would have happily obliged."
