ITV The Family Chase fans were shocked by a family's final round on tonight's "one of the all time great" episodes.
The episode, which aired at 7pm this Mother's Day, saw the Harte family go up against Jenny 'the Vixen' Ryan.
Fans were pleased to see all four family members make it through to the final round, gaining a potential jackpot of £49,000.
Dad David had managed to get £26,000 in his head to head which he took back to his family.
After getting 17 questions right in the final chase, host Bradley Walsh told the family team they'd need at least three push backs to stand a chance of winning the impressive £49,000 jackpot.
After executing several push backs, it looked like the Harte family might leave with the jackpot but the Vixen was able to catch them - with just four seconds remaining.
Viewers were disappointed by the result, as many had hoped to be cheered up by the episode.
On Twitter, Ambika said: "How can they show a family lose on #mothersday2020?!"
Another viewer commented: "And there was me thinking #ITV were going to cheer the nation up by putting a really positive episode of the #CHASE on where all four of a family get thru & win £49,000 WRONG All four lose the lot, caught with 4 seconds to go!
"ITV - keeping up on the morale of the nation [two laughing emojis]".
Referring to mum Gillian, one viewer said: "Gillian needs lots of consolation hugs after that Final Chase."
Other viewers were grateful for the show while the coronavirus pandemic rages on.

"I wanted a good episode after this week."
Erin said: "Yea isolation may be boring but at least I have my mum to text me updates on The Chase from downstairs".
