ITV's The Chase viewers baffled by contestant's highly unusual job

The Chase viewers were left baffled when one of the contestants revealed his unusual career.

Andy, from Suffolk, was the fourth player to take on Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan on the popular ITV quiz show on Wednesday (November 10).

Introducing himself, he told host Bradley Walsh that he worked as a dog swimming teacher, Birmingham Live reports.

He told Brad: “I teach dogs to swim. I have a dog swimming pool.

"I literally have a swimming pool in a field on a site of the brewery and I teach dogs to swim. We have pool parties, dog diving, we also have puppy classes. We have a lot of fun.”

“Quite cool that, isn’t it,” Bradley responded, as Chaser Jenny quipped: "Is the most difficult part getting the trunks on them?"

Andy, from Suffolk, appeared on The Chase on Wednesday, November 10 (ITV)

But viewers were confused by the unique job.

Lee wrote: "Jeez, dogs don't need to be taught how to swim. What is wrong with people these days #thechase"

Mr Chambers said: "Does he teach dogs to swim backstroke… #TheChase."

They added: "He teaches dogs to swim, which is a coincidence because I teach birds how to fly… #TheChase."

Lenzo Toggz asked: "#TheChase How many dogs can't swim?"

The player went head to head against chaser Jenny after earning £3,000 in his cash-builder, but was taken out in the head-to-head after he bravely opted for the higher offer of £69,000.

Andy, his partner Jo, and their spaniel, Buddy, run Canine Dip and Dive in Suffolk.

And The Chase wasn’t Andy’s first time appearing on a gameshow. In fact, he entered Buddy into a show called Superstar Dogs, hosted by John Barrowman.

According to the businesses website, Buddy made the semi finals after taking part in challenges like jumping in a pool to retrieve a ball or toy in the quickest time.
