ITV's The Chase fans beg contestant to do the unthinkable

Fans shared a rare moment during tonight's episode of The Chase as they thought the same thing.

Taking Twitter in their droves, viewers begged one of the contestants on the ITV gameshow to go low and accept the minus offer.

Normally, accepting a low offer on the show is highly frowned upon by fans of the show.

But for Lynn, from Fyffe, things were very different as fans watching from home thought that she had done the wrong thing in accepting a middle offer of £3,000.

The player before her, James, had successfully added £60,000 to the pot as he played a "blinder" of a game, after an abysmal cash builder round.

He stunned everyone as he beat the chaser, Anne Hegerty, and returned back to the team bench adding some much needed cash to the prize pot after the first two players, Ed and Alice, went home empty handed.

He successfully earned a place in the final, and his only hope of having a teammate joining him there was Lynn.

She also played poorly in the cash builder round, answering only three questions correctly.

The Scottish player was offered a low offer of minus £5,000, which fans thought was actually fairly generous of the chaser.

She said: "I can't take a minus offer" as she went for a middle offer of £3,000, but viewers were in shock and thought she had done the wrong thing.

Tim said: "For the first time ever, take the lower offer #thechase"

Lyra said: "Can’t believe I’m fuming over someone not taking the minus #Thechase."

Dai said: "If anyone should ever have taken the low offer... #TheChase"

However, Lynn surprised everyone when she beat Anne and made it back to join James in the final.

The pair of contestants went on to win the game overall, each going home £31,500 richer.
