ITV's schedule shake up as Emmerdale airs at new time

Emmerdale will air at a slightly different time this evening.

The ITV soap will be on at 7pm, rather than its usual time of 7.30pm, tonight on Tuesday, October 11. This is so that ITV can make room for live coverage of the women's international football.

Laura Woods will introduce coverage of the women's international friendly encounter at the Amex Stadium in Brighton as England go up against Czech Republic. Kick off will be at 8pm, but the coverage will begin at 7.30pm.

Throughout October, there have been lots of major storylines planned for the soap’s 50th anniversary. We’ve seen lots of old favourites return and we, sadly, might say goodbye to some village regulars.

Offering a little tease of what to expect, producer Kate Brooks said: “As part of our big 50th celebrations, the big week will focus on a massive storm which is going to rip through the village and absolutely leave a massive trail of destruction in its wake.

"Some of our best-loved villagers will be in peril and it is safe to say literally the village won’t be the same after this - it will never be the same again. The impact this storm has on peoples’ lives is massive.”
