Ridley returned to our screens last night. Consultant detective Alex Ridley is working once again with DI Carol Farman as the pair set about investigating a series of crimes.
In the first episode of the new series, A Sleeping Tiger, Ridley and Farman look into the death of Ryan, a young man who was killed not long after being released from the police station after being considered a suspect in a heist at a jewellery store.
Since Ridley and Farman will be solving distinct crimes in each of the four episodes, we can anticipate that the cast will vary from one episode to the next.
All of the familiar primary characters will, of course, be there throughout.
Here is your guide to Ridley season two cast.
Alex Ridley played by Adrian Dunbar
Adrian Dunbar plays the major role of Alex Ridley in the critically praised series.
Viewers may recognise him from his role as Superintendent Ted Hastings in the BBC's popular crime thriller Line of Duty.
The 67-year-old's exceptional portfolio includes roles in Silent Witness, Death in Paradise, Blood, and Broken.
The Irish actor remarked on his return to Ridley: “There's that feeling when you get a second series, there's a really good buzz. We felt great about coming back and meeting everybody again, and we had the same crew, so it was fantastic.”
DI Carol Farman played by Bronagh Waugh

Bronagh Waugh returns to her role as DI Carol Farman, the former protégé of Ridley.
After a deadly jewellery robbery, Carol and Ridley are in a desperate race against time as they try to identify the criminal mastermind behind the operation at the beginning of the new season.
Waugh's most well-known performance was co-starring with Jamie Dornan and Gillian Anderson as Sally Anne Spector in The Fall. In addition, she starred in several films, including Unforgotten, Derry Girls, Des, and The Stolen Girl.
DCI Paul Goodwin played by Terence Maynard

Terence Maynard plays DCI Paul Goodwin, the head of the police force.
Carol is basically under the supervision of Paul, the detective inspector. Although he and Ridley have history together, they have made the decision to get past it in order to collaborate on cases.
Despite his tough and unyielding manner, it is clear that he cares about the team's success, even though his relationship with Ridley is complex. In the first series, the two had to put aside their personal emotions and work together to solve the case. Are they going to manage another challenge this time round?
With roles in Coronation Street, Sherwood, The Witcher, and Edge of Tomorrow, Maynard has been on our screens since the middle of the 1990s.
DC Darren Lakhan played by George Bukhari

In the first season, George Bukhari, who portrayed DC Darren Lakhan in Ridley, was a big hit with viewers.
He served in the military for two years following a difficult adolescence before joining the police force.
He is portrayed in the show as the “go-to” source for fresh leads and is constantly prepared to go above and above for the group.
Bukhari's most well-known role outside of the ITV series is Sammy Farr in Coronation Street, which he performed sporadically between 2019 and 2022. In addition to his success in soap operas, the actor has starred in Vera, Years and Years, and After the Flood.
Dr Wendy Newstone played by Georgie Glen

Dr Wendy Newstone, played by Georgie Glen, is in charge of the forensic team in Ridley.
ITV viewers have learnt to value her investigative expertise, which is crucial in helping Ridley and Carol with their cases.
In addition to the criminal drama, Georgie Glen is known for her roles in Am I Being Unreasonable?, Waterloo Road, The Crown, and Call the Midwife.
Annie Marling played by Julie Graham

In addition to being Ridley's close friend, Annie is the proprietor of the jazz bar where Ridley frequently performs.
Julie's most well-known role was Rhona in Shetland. She has also appeared in The Bill, This City is Ours, and William and Mary.
Other cast members include:
- John Mitchie as Harry Bentham
- Chloe Harris as Tash Walker
- Kaya Moore as Callum Douglas
- Kerim Hassan as Liam Manley
- John Henshaw as Frank Stanford
- Kriis Bohn as Rebecca Bayling
Ridley season two began on ITV1 on August 10. The remaining three episodes will be released weekly at the same time. Alternatively, you can stream all episodes on ITVX.
