ITV's Quiz fans in meltdown as Ingrams arrested by Simon's dad from Inbetweeners

ITV viewers tuning into Quiz, the three-part drama based on the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? cheating scandal of 2001, were left stunned when they spotted a familiar face.

Episode two of the series based on true events saw the moment Charles Ingram took to the hotseat on the show, alongside host Chris Tarrant.

Charles went on to win the top prize of a million pounds, despite not knowing the answer to several questions and making big guesses.

His odd behaviour sparked concern something wasn't right - with coughing heard from the audience also leading producers to believe Charles was cheating.

In episode two, viewers saw the immediate fallout to the episode being filmed, and the accusations being made.

Charles and wife Diana denied they had cheated, and said that they had won the money fairly.

It was the end of the episode that the pair were stunned to find the police at their door, with them placed under arrest.

Episode three will see the husband and wife taken in for questioning, grilled over what happened in the studio.

The events led on to the pair, and someone else in the studio at the time, being found guilty.

Viewers who tuned in on Tuesday, and plan to tune in again on Wednesday, may recognise the police officer grilling the pair.

Some fans watching the latest episode were quick to realise where they had spotted the actor playing him before - and they couldn't believe it.

Another said: "Getting nicked by Simon’s dad from The Inbetweeners too," while a third joked: "Simon’s dad arrested Charles and Diana Ingram!"

Quiz concludes on Wednesday at 9pm on ITV.
