ITV's Our House start date confirmed by lead actor Martin Compston

Martin Compston has delighted his many fans by letting slip the start date for highly anticipated ITV thriller Our House.

As Sheridan Smith drama No Return hurtles to its gripping conclusion next week, teaser adverts for Our House have aired at regular intervals during prime time shows over the last month.

The new series takes its name from the hit Louise Candlish book of the same, which is one of the most buzzed about novels of the last few years.

Our House tells the story of Fiona Lawson who arrives home one day to find strangers moving into her house.

With all her family’s possessions and furniture nowhere to be seen, Fi believes there’s been a huge mistake and insists her home isn’t for sale.

With events spiralling beyond her control, we feel her panic rising as she can’t reach estranged husband, Bram, the character Line of Duty favourite Martin plays in the drama.

Fi, played by Tuppence Middleton, then meets handsome stranger Toby (Rupert Penry Jones), who seems to be her knight in shining armour, but, as ever, with TV dramas, there are many twists and turns.

On Wednesday, Martin took to Twitter to reveal that Our House will make its debut on ITV on Monday, March 7, with the date then being confirmed by the broadcaster on Thursday.

And, as well as that being little over a week away, the even better news for people who hate having to wait a week for each new episode, is that Our House will air every night at 9pm for four consecutive nights, with the final episode going out on Thursday, March 10.

Reacting to Martin's post, a fan who'd already read the book, replied: "I’m so looking forward to seeing your portrayal of Bram, @louise_candlish wrote a wonderfully warped character and I know you can make it so much more! I’m very excited."

Louise herself then responded: "You are going to love his Bram! I’m very happy," with another of Martin's followers commenting: "I'm so excited for this can't wait."

Our House won Book of the Year – Crime and Thriller, at the British Book Awards in 2019 as well as being a Sunday Times bestseller.
