ITV's Lorraine Kelly was victim of 'savage' insult from Eamonn Holmes

Lorraine Kelly has recalled a 'savage' insult thrown at her about her appearance by former colleague ITV colleague Eamonn Holmes, as Davina McCall's 'new fringe' became a hot topic on her show.

When The Masked Singer returned for its new series on Sunday night, it took just moments of former Big Brother host Davina being on screen for viewers to react to her strikingly different hairstyle. While some fans praised the look, others were quick to liken it to Courtney Cox's famous for all the wrong reasons hair in Scream 3.

Davina's fringe continued to be a major talking point as ITV shows returned for their first live episodes of 2023 on Tuesday, with Ruth Langsford donning a replica wig as she returned to host Loose Women, with the panel giving their opinions on the cut and, as she was back in the studio hours earlier, Lorraine, who admitted she was a big fan of Davina's new look, was joined by celebrity hairdresser Jamie Stevens, live from the salon floor.

Jamie was joined by a willing model who was in the chair ready to have a fringe cut in, although the lady did admit that she was worried her 'face was too round' for a fringe. And it was then that Lorraine remembered a cheeky dig Eamonn made at her expense, from their days together on ITV.

Giving assurances from the studio, Lorraine responded: "Listen, I've got the roundest face in the world, before adding: "Don't worry about a round faces, I've got a face like...I'll always remember Eamonn Holmes said to me 'there's no wrinkles on a balloon,' he's so cheeky!"

As guest Dr Hilary appeared outraged on her behalf, Lorraine told him: "No, because we've both round faces," to which the GP replied: "And that's very attractive!"
