ITV's Lorraine Kelly mortified by Andi Peters' Boris Johnson remark moments into show

Lorraine Kelly was mortified by Andi Peters' remark moments into today's episode.

The Scottish presenter returned to front another jam packed edition of her self titled chat show. She started the programme by covering Boris Johnson's final speech as Prime Minister today.

Mr Johnson thanked Dillon the Dog and Larry the Cat in his final address outside Downing Street. This prompted Andi to reference his own pet as he introduced the competition on today's episode.

He said: "I think this is the opportune moment for me to mention my cat Twinkle who sadly died when she got run over by a dustcart." Lorraine was shocked as Andi erupted into laughter.

She said: "Don't laugh." Andi added: "I got a new cat called Twinkle two, yeah she's gone as well.

“I just thought I would mention it since the Prime Minister mentioned his cat, it could be national cat day." Viewers following the show on Twitter were baffled by the exchange.

Samantha said: "Andi Peters laughing about his cat getting run over by a dustbin van and then having a giggling fit isn’t weird at all."

Declan added: "What is Andi Peters on about. Some people don’t find a cat dying very funny"

Paul posted, alongside a confused face: "Andi's ‘humour"

Dave commented : "Why is Andi Peters laughing about his cat dying? That is so far from funny it’s unreal."
