ITV's Lorraine Kelly hit by another illness blow after sick leave as Kate Garraway voices concerns

Lorraine Kelly has been hit by another illness blow, weeks after being sent home from work, revealing she'd lost her voice before hosting her show on Thursday and prompting her ITV colleague Kate Garraway to raise concerns.

Back on February 22, long-serving presenter Lorraine arrived at work full of excitement to chat to guest Adam Lambert. However, things took a turn when she suddenly fell ill and Ranvir Singh, who has stepped into replace her on multiple occasions before, was hastily drafted in to do the honours.

Informing her many Twitter followers that she'd been struck down by a bug, Lorraine posted: "When you have to be sent home from work early in the morning because you are suddenly attacked by a hideous bug and were looking forward to interviewing @adamlambert THAT! Beyond disappointed but imagine if I had infected him !!!!!!!"

Lorraine's illness saw her miss three consecutive shows, before returning to screens at the start of the following week. However, now, just three weeks on, Lorraine has now been struck down again , this time by a sore throat, which has seen her lose her voice.

Owning up to the very unfortunate illness as she appeared at the end of Good Morning Britain, Lorraine presented a sign to GMB hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway which read: SEE YOU AT 9," prompting Ben to joke that Lorraine lost her voice because she'd been 'shouting at the Chancellor' about the Budget.

Kate then quipped: "I don't like the idea that female presenters have been reduced to writing things on card. We'll be silenced Lorraine!" Kate then joined that Dr Hilary Jones, a guest on Lorraine, could come to the presenter's rescue.
