Kate Garraway has told Good Morning Britain viewers that husband Derek is 'doing well,' ahead of a new documentary Caring For Derek airing on ITV, while admitting she felt guilty for taking up airtime with everything going on.
It's now been very close to two years since Derek was admitted to hospital after contracting coronavirus.
The former political aide was then placed in a medically induced coma as his condition rapidly took a turn for the worse, with Kate and the couple's children Billy and Darcy unable to see him, due to lockdown restrictions.
Former I'm A Celebrity star Kate was told by doctors that Derek was one of the worst affected patients of any Covid survivors.

After more than a year away from his family, Derek was finally allowed to return home in spring 2021, before Kate won a National Television Award for Finding Derek, the candid documentary about the family's traumatic year.
Kate received a standing ovation from the O2 Arena crowd as she accepted the trophy for Best Authored Documentary trophy.
And her family's experiences will be in the prime time spotlight again on Tuesday, when Caring For Derek airs.
Ahead of its premiere, Kate appeared on GMB from home to say: "He's doing good, he's doing good.
"We're having some more tests and more things we've been waiting a long time for."
She added: "Funnily enough, your programme this morning, with the situation in Ukraine, the flooding and everything that's going on, I had this feeling like 'oh gosh, people don't want to hear this again.'
"And I was just texting one of my friends who works for one of the charities that has been really helpful with us, saying 'Oh god I feel like this is a bad morning to be taking up time and she was like 'No! Don't say that! We need you to take up time. We need the story to be told."
Caring For Derek airs on ITV at 9pm on Tuesday, January 22 and will then be made available to watch on the ITVHub
