ITV's Judge Rinder helps woman complete her bucket list with tear-jerking stunt

Judge Rinder helped a Wirral woman fulfil her bucket list, when he arrested her on television.

Jane Dabner, from Bebington, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014.

After initially being given the all clear following treatment, three years on, Jane was told the cancer had returned and that it was incurable.

Following the news of her illness, 57-year-old has set out completing a bucket list, which includes being arrested.

To help get being arrested ticked off her list, Jane’s family and friends asked Judge Rinder to help out with a stunt, reports the MEN.

Jane was in the audience watching filming for the ITV programme and was surprised when Judge Rinder announced she was arrested for "stealing the show" at a charity catwalk she took part in.

"You seem to think this is funny, madam," he said before asking one of the officers what the "allegation" is.

GMP officer Sergeant Jinnett Lunt, who met Jane through Maggie's Manchester, a charity which offers free support to anyone affected by cancer, was the one to read Jane her rights before her mock trial by the celebrity judge.

Evidence against Jane during the programme included messages from TV host Lorraine Kelly and from singer Rick Astley - who had performed at the same catwalk show.

Judge Rinder found Jane guilty of "stealing the limelight" and added that she had been successful "at reminding us all how important it is, whatever is going on in your life, to delight in the joy of being alive."

Speaking about the day, Jane said: "Being arrested was on my bucket list and without risking the possibility of going to jail, I never for one minute thought that this would actually happen.

"When the officers from GMP walked on set I thought it was part of the show. I had no idea what my friends were plotting in the background....what a fabulous surprise and the icing on the cake was being tried by the amazing Judge Rob Rinder."

Jane added: "Thank you everyone who made this day very special...still pinching myself!"

Judge Rinder airs weekday from 2pm on ITV.
