ITV's I'm A Celebrity slammed by parents after it 'ruins' Christmas for children

Despite airing after the watershed, ITV's I'm A Celebrity! is thought of by many as a show which the whole family can enjoy together. After all, nothing quite says family bonding like sitting in a room together and watching a load of celebs force kangaroo anus down their throats.

However, it wasn't the celebrities left with a sour taste in their mouths last night, but instead, parents, as the show 'ruined Christmas' for their kids...apparently.

Here's what happened.

Last night, the Ian Wright and James Haskell were sat in camp discussing what Christmas is like with their families as kids. Ian Wright, very innocently, explained how he would dress up as Santa for his little ones when they were young - suggesting that Santa may not be real.

Trouble in the I'm A Celeb camp as dunny turns into 'disaster zone'

James also made the ludicrous suggestion, by telling Ian how his parents would go all out when he was little, and he'd wake up to find footprints by the fire and half eaten carrots.

THE AUDACITY. THIS IS A FAMILY SHOW YOU KNOW, GUYS.

Anyway, many parents weren't happy with this, and took to Twitter to slam the Christmas-ruining duo.

Posting on the social media platform, one person said: "Just ruined Christmas for my kids... nice one."

"Let my little man stay up to watch #ImACeleb and they're talking about SANTA and childhood. I just did a serious jump up and dance around the room to hide the convo," said someone else.

However, some people have hit back at the complaints, and claim that the show is not at fault if kids have been allowed to watch it post-watershed.

" #ImACeleb isn't a kids show if they're old enough to watch it they are old enough to know Santa isn't real. Stop having a go at them when it's your fault for letting a child watch the show in the first place," defended one viewer.

"If your kids are young enough to still believe in Santa what are they still doing up to watch watching a show that’s on after the watershed with all that swearing?" asked another.

I'm a Celeb airs at the later time of 9.10pm on ITV tonight.
