ITV's I'm A Celebrity's Ant McPartlin forced to present solo after Dec suddenly disappears off camera

Ant McPartlin was forced to present solo during Thursday night's episode of I'm A Celebrity, after co-presenter Declan Donnelly suddenly disappeared off camera. It soon became clear that the unexpected 'fall' was planned as part of the duo's comedic sketch.

The hosts had been discussing 'face yoga' after Culture Club frontman Boy George was seen pulling bizarre facial expressions alongside newcomer Seann Walsh in the jungle at the beginning of the episode.

Ant and Dec poked fun at Boy George in the comedic segment as they pulled faces, including looking 'surprised', 'the straw please' look and the 'side eye'.

They also posed for the 'single eyebrow lift' and referenced the height of footballer Jill Scott at they looked up to the sky. During the sketch, Dec then screamed and fell backwards behind the desk, leaving Ant standing solo.

Viewers said they found the segment 'hilarious' after it quickly became clear that Dec's fall had been staged.

@Pinder1993 wrote: "hopefully Dec didn’t hurt himself too much doing that fall then but must admit that was hilarious to watch, how Ant kept a straight face I’ll never know #ImACeleb"

@Mofoman360 tweeted: "face yoga that absolutely hilarious." and @KBMarketing said: "loving the face yoga boys @antanddec"

Ant and Dec also made viewers laugh elsewhere on Thursday night's episode as former Health Secretary Matt Hancock took part in Tentacles of Terror, after the public voted for him to take on the trial.

The MP was tasked with collecting 11 numbered stars in order as he was lowered into the water trapped inside an octopus-shaped cage full of underwater critters. But hosts Declan Donnelly and Ant McPartlin made political jokes as Hancock had to put his hand in a cage as snakes, eels and small crocodiles were seen.

As he began his trial, McPartlin asked him: “You must have met a few snakes in your time in Westminster?” Hancock replied: “I (see) what you did there, should we laugh afterwards.”

Donnelly later said: “(Typical) politician doesn’t listen to the electorate.”
