ITV's Dancing on Ice final will be postponed in TV schedule shake-up

The final for ITV's Dancing on Ice was in the sights for the last few remaining competitors - but thanks to a rescheduling, they'll have to wait a little longer.

As reported by Manchester Evening News, the final of the skating show was due to air on Sunday, March 20 after this weekends semi-final showdown.

And during the programme on Sunday, co-host Phillip Schofield told viewers that the upcoming semi-final will feature a double elimination in preparation for the grand finale.

But now, the audience will have to wait another week to find out the winners of the 2022 series, as it has been postponed until March 27 instead.

This is due to ITV owning the rights to the FA Cup matches, and given that they will be airing back-to-back quarter-finals on the channel, Dancing on Ice has suffered the schedule shake-up.

The game between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest will be kicking off at 6pm, meaning that Dancing On Ice’s usual 6.30pm start time won’t be possible.

ITV have confirmed the final will take place a week later and the show will be having a week off instead.

One Twitter user was feeling the shock from the schedule change, writing: "I wish ITV would stop changing their schedule every two minutes. Just put the sport on all the bloody sport channels and leave #DancingOnIce alone."

Another tweet read: "Dancing on Ice Grand Final delayed so FA Cup Quarter Final can be aired.....this is the end of civilisation as we know it! #DancingOnIce"

On Sunday night Paralympian Stef Reid has become the latest celebrity eliminated from Dancing On Ice in a week that saw three contestants earn perfect scores from the judges.

The latest episode saw former Strictly Come Dancing professional Brendan Cole, Pussycat Dolls star Kimberly Wyatt and singer and dancer Regan Gascoigne all score the maximum 40 points.

Dancing on Ice will continue on ITV this Sunday March 13, from 6:30pm, and the final will air on March 27 at the same time.
