ITV's Britain Get Talking video sees Ant and Dec urge people to 'think of your friends'

Ant and Dec are among the stars who feature in a powerful new video released as part of ITV's ongoing Britain Get Talking campaign.

The video has been released to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week and also features the likes of Emma Willis, Phillip Schofield and Gordon Ramsey, who all read read different lines of a message which encourages people to stay connected to others.
The video also features Harry Redknapp, who is back on screen in the new series of Harry's Heroes, as well as daytime Lorraine Kelly, Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore and The Voice UK coach Will.I.Am.
The video is part of ITV's mental health campaign Britain Get Talking, which the broadcaster says has seen more than 6.1 million people text or call a friend or family member since March 21.

Ant said: "We are huge supporters of ITV's Britain Get Talking 2020 campaign which has been highlighting the importance of people connecting, even more so now than ever.
"It's incredible that as a result of the campaign more than six million people have got in touch with someone so far."

Ant and Dec's appearance in the video, which sees Dec tell viewers "show a friend you're thinking of them," comes after they made a powerful address to the nation at the end of an episode of Saturday Night Takeaway, as they had to the show without an audience due to the coronavurus pandemic.

Dec explained that it's never been more important to keep talking and that hearing someone's voice can reduce anxiety and distress.

Ant added: "So if there's someone you can't be with right now, pick up the phone and show them that you care. Reach out to the ones who need it most."
