ITV reveal when filming with start on Vera series 10 and fans are very excited

Its ninth series had millions of us hooked every Sunday night and featured cameos from some well known North East locations as well as an appearance from Denise Welch and Tim Healy's son and ITV have now revealed when filmed with start on Vera series 10.

The Tyneside based drama has proved a massive ratings winner for ITV since it made its debut in 2011 with award winning actress Brenda Bletyhn in the leading role of DCI Vera Stanhope.

Over the course of the past eight years, Vera, which recently won the special Judges accolade at the Royal Television Society North East awards, has solved all kinds of grisly mysteries in familiar places all over the region, with one of the most memorable from the last series being the famous party boat on the River Tyne.

Denise Welch and Tim Healy's son Louis stars in latest episode of Vera as Tyler, the seemingly innocent brother of a murdered teenager, only for him to confess to actually being the culprit as the plot unravelled, cue a big chase through Newcastle city centre.

Casting hasn't yet been revealed for series 10 but we now know when filming will commence.

A picture of a script for episode 1 was uploaded to the Vera Facebook page on Thursday night with the words 'read through draft - 23/04/19.'

And the picture was captioned "Series 10 starts filming next week!"

Fans of the show were quite to react with great excitement to the news. One commented "Absolutely love Vera/Brenda, will make my day when the new series starts, I can watch old programs over and over too... brilliant lady."
