ITV Real Housewives of Cheshire favourites Ester and Tanya are back for Christmas special as Rachel has big news

The Real Housewives are set to make splash as they leave Cheshire and set sail on a cruise trip. On-board for this brand-new series are The Real Housewives of Cheshire’s Hanna Kinsella, Lauren Simon, Lystra Adams, Nicole Sealey, Rachel Lugo, Seema Malhotra and Sheena Lynch.

The Housewives are squeezing in a girls’ trip before Christmas, taking to the seas to cruise around Mexico in style - and two former show favourites are returning to our screens. Former Housewives Tanya Bardsley and Ester Dee will rejoin their pals as they travel from port to port in search of sun, sea and fun.

Also in this three-part series The Real Housewives of Cheshire: Christmas Cruising, Rachel has big news to celebrate and a storm is brewing between Hanna and Seema. Tanya, who is married to Burnley FC footballer Phil Bardsley, is one of the original Housewives from the series launch in 2015.

Tanya last featured on the hit ITVBe reality show in series 14 in 2021. The glam mum-of-four announced that she was stepping away from the Real Housewives in December after struggling with her medication for ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder).

She was diagnosed with ADHD, a condition that affects people's behaviour, after suffering years of anxiety. While under doctor's orders to rest and avoid stress Tanya missed out on much of the drama, including a girls' trip to Edinburgh, in series 14.

She made the announcement that she was leaving during the reunion episode in a chat with host Brian Dowling. "I'm having to take a step back from the show which I'm gutted about because I absolutely love the show," she told Brian.

"And I love the crew, the crew are like family to me, and some of the girls not all of them," she joked. She explained: "So I've just decided to go back to having ADHD. I've come off the pills. I'm still learning how to navigate and stuff like that.

"So I'm just going to be stepping back from Housewives and being the number one fan." She added: "You never know, one day I might be back."

Tanya said about her comeback as she shared a snap of herself in a sparkling pink gown: "I've been dying to tell you all that I’ve returned to star guest on the @officialrhoch Christmas cruising spin off special along with @esterdee which is on Monday 5th dec 9pm itvbe it was sooo good to see all the girls it was hilarious."

Ester was in the show as a regular from 2017 until her last guest appearance in series 13 earlier last year. She said she had made the decision to leave after reassessing her priorities.

The mother-of-one told CheshireLive : "I've enjoyed my time on the show and it was a great platform for me to start my TV career but I've changed and so have my priorities." She added: "I have no regrets about doing Housewives and I made some good friends but I'm not the same person as I was when I started and it's not right for me at the moment."

Ester said it was 'like old times' as she joined the cruise. "I loved my cheeky get away with @rachellugo1 @nicolesealey74 @seemaforeverunique @hannamiraftab @lauren_simon_835 @lystraadams and finally meeting the fabulous @sheenalynchofficial," she posted with a group snap on her Instagram. "And there is a surprise visit of the lovely @tanyabardsley7 too it felt like good old times!"

The Real Housewives of Cheshire: Christmas Cruising, Mondays from 5th December at 9pm on ITVBe and the ITV Hub.
