ITV puts 'upsetting' warning on first Emmerdale without Meena

ITV issued a warning to viewers about the potentially upsetting content of Tuesday's episode of Emmerdale, which was the first since Meena was jailed for murder.

Meena's murder trial came to a close last week after a tense week in the court room as actress Paige Sandhu's time on the soap came to an end.

Viewers of the ITV soap were relieved as the narcissistic nurse finally met her demise, and although the guilty verdict came with a vicious attack, it seems like we have seen the last of Meena Jutla as she is sent down for good.

Meena's exit meant that attentions turned to other characters in the Yorkshire Dales soap on tonight's episode, including that of Marlon who continues to recover from a devastating stroke in hospital. ITV issued a warning to viewers about the potentially upsetting scenes and content of the episode.

The scenes with Marlon in hospital with his partner Rhona - who is desperate for him to return home - were particularly difficult to watch for some viewers, with some even saying that they found it too much to bear, which is presumably what the upsetting warning was referring to.

Twitter user @MichelleWhyte_1 said: "I've had to switch #Emmerdale off already, can't watch Marlon any more it's making me too sad."

Another fan @yogamanic said: "I can’t watch this Emmerdale it’s too sad with Marlon’s stroke."

Later in the episode Rhona asked her mum Mary to leave the house after she tried to raise her concerns about bringing Marlon home.
