ITV postponed fantasy drama Jekyll and Hyde from its Sunday night schedule in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris that claimed 129 lives.
The decision to pull the show – which has attracted more than 800 complaints about violent scenes and faces an investigation by broadcasting regulator Ofcom – was revealed by writer Charlie Higson on Sunday morning.

The fourth episode, which had been due to air at 7pm, contained scenes of violence involving a gunfight.
ITV, which has refused to move the show from its tea-time slot despite hundreds of complaints it is too violent to air before the 9pm watershed, later confirmed that the fourth episode would be rescheduled.
“’The episode of Jekyll and Hyde was postponed in consideration of recent events in Paris,” said an ITV spokeswoman.
ITV instead aired an episode of gameshow The Chase at 6.30pm followed by an ITV News special on the Paris terrorist attacks at 7.30pm.
