ITV Our House: Viewers complain of technical issues during first episode

The first episode of ITV drama series Our House premiered on Monday night, but viewers were left frustrated when ITV appeared to go offline near the start of the programme.

Starring Greenock actor Martin Compston, the series begins with Fiona Lawson (Tuppence Middleton) returning home one day to find that a family she has never met is moving into her house.

With her furniture and possessions gone, she is unable to convince the new tenants that it is in fact her home they are moving into.

What makes matters worse for Fiona is that she is unable to get in touch with her estranged husband Bram (Compston).

The first episode finds Fiona in an increasingly panicked state as she is unable to reach Bram, being unaware of his true intentions.

Viewers at home were left frustrated by technical issues however, and were quick to share their thoughts on Twitter.

"Was watching #OurHouse then @ITV went off," one said.

"Well I was enjoying #OurHouse but @ITV has disappeared," a second tweeted.

A third echoed: "What’s happened to #OurHouse our TV is blank!"

The four-part series will air throughout the week (ITV)

A fourth asked: "Anyone else’s ITV stopped working?"

Before the technical issues arose, the series seemed to be receiving a mixed response on Twitter.

One user posted: "Already lost interest in #OurHouse when the woman didn't even call the police."

A second complained: "Oh bloody hell. More "10 years earlier" s***e".

"5 minutes of #ourhouse and it's off. Jesus, how have they let acting this bad on prime time ITV," stated a third.

Others were more positive towards the new series however, with one tweeting: "This is creepy right from the start hopefully it will be good anything with Martin Compston in usually is #OurHouse"

A second wrote: "Settling in to watch #OurHouse on ITV. It looks good so far, who else is watching it?"

Another shared: "Hoping this is good. I love Martin Compston, Tuppence Middleton and Rupert Penry-Jones so have high hopes #OurHouse"

Our House is based on the best-selling novel by Louise Candlish, in which the plot moves between two different timelines — the present day and back when Bram and Fi first move into the home.

Each of the four episodes of Our House will air throughout the week, with the second instalment set to premiere at 9pm Tuesday on ITV.
