ITV News has appointed head of home news Rachel Corp as editor of its London news programme, following Alex Chandler’s move to News at Ten to work with new presenter Tom Bradby.
Corp, whose department won this year’s Royal Television Society home news award, oversaw ITV News’ general election newsgathering and has also worked at the BBC where she was its senior producer in Moscow.
ITV said her new role will help ITV News London “build on its reputation for distinctive content”.
Corp said: “I’m looking forward to telling the stories that matter most to Londoners and getting under the skin of the many lives, cultures and communities that shape our capital.”
ITV News editor, Geoff Hill, said: “Rachel’s sharp news judgment, leadership qualities and editorial creativity have transformed ITV News’ UK newsgathering. She is an extremely talented journalist, who makes a valued contribution to the ITV newsroom every day.”
Chandler has become senior programme editor of ITV News at Ten, where the presenting lineup has been changed to make Bradby the main anchor.
