ITV Love Island winner Ekin-Su confirmed for Dancing On Ice after beau Davide 'turned show down'

Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu is heading for her second reality show as she's been announced as the latest celebrity confirmed to be taking part in the 2023 series of Dancing on Ice. The line-up for the ITV skating competition started being announced earlier this week.

Ekin-Su 28, joins former EastEnders actress Pasty Palmer and football legend John Fashanu in the line-up so far. The big reveal comes months after the Turkish actress was voted the winner of ITV2 dating show Love Island alongside her beau Davide Sanclimenti

The news was announced on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday (October 5) during Richard Arnold's daily entertainment segment After the show's entertainment editor dropped several clues as to the identity of the third star who will be donning their skates early next year, Ekin-Su then appeared during a VT as she revealed all.

"Hi Good Morning Britain, it’s Ekin-Su here today," the brunette beauty said. "I’ve got some amazing news to tell you. I will be doing this year’s Dancing On Ice! I’m so excited for the team and can’t wait to get myself on the ice and skate. Stay tuned and see you on the ice!"

Dancing On Ice also shared the news on its official Twitter account, writing: "Love Island champion @ekinsuofficial is ready to get hearts pulsing on the ice #DancingOnIce @ITV." And fans were quick to react.

@RyanGSoapKing11 said: "OMG Ekin Su is on #DancingOnIce the #LoveIsland contestant I didn't expect to be on the show WOW!!!!!" @owenweir joked: "She is a liar, actress….GET HER ON THE RINK." @megamouth_88 commented: "Totally wasn't expecting her to represent Love Island, but SO HERE FOR IT! #DancingOnIce."

And they also have very high hopes. @eurovision_jack posted: "winner alert omg???" @SUCKAPVNCH echoed: "dancing on ice winner 2023." @meenastoyboy shared: "God-Su is coming to win."

Ekin announced her own signing in a video on GMB (ITV)

But the big reveal comes after Davide confessed to turning down the challenging show, hosted by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. Explaining why, the Italian business owner told The Sun : "They wanted me to do Dancing on Ice this year but I refused this time around.

"I have so much going on and I can't commit to something every day and when I do something I want to do it properly. Right now I just can't focus on something like that, for the moment anyway, but in the future maybe I will."

But it won't be long before fans of the couple will get to see Ekin-Su and Davide together on screen as it was announced this week that they will be back on ITV2 to front their own programme, titled Homecomings, which will see the couple explore both Davide's hometown in Italy and Ekin-Su's beloved Turkey.

Davide recently said he turned down the show (ITV)

For the first time since leaving the Love Island villa, Davide will return to Italy and his hometown Frosinone with Ekin-Su by his side. But before he heads home, Davide will give Ekin-Su a taste of Italy as the pair embark on a whistle-stop tour of the Italian city of love, Verona, made famous by lovers Romeo and Juliet.

Then they will travel through the Tuscan valley and eventually jet off to Turkey, where they will visit Istanbul. Ekin-Su will introduce Davide to the acting colleagues she met while living and working as an actress in Turkey. They will also venture on an eight-hour road trip in a campervan to Ekin-Su’s family village of Odemis. As they spend a night sleeping in their motorhome, cue the drama of living in confined spaces. Along the way, viewers will be introduced to the pair’s family and friends, from parents to siblings to grandparents and more.
