ITV Love Island viewers spot 'new couple' and future islander in penultimate episode

Love Island fans have cheekily suggested a new pair on the show have 'more chemistry than one of the winter series' final couples and have also spotted a potential future islander in the penultimate episode. The current run of the ITV2 dating show will come to an end on Monday night (March 13).

And during Sunday night's show (March 12), viewers watched as the couples - Will Young and Jessie Wynter, Samie Elishi and Tom Clare, Tanya Mahenga and Shaq Muhammad, Sanam Harrinanan and Kai Fagan, and Lana Jenkins and Ron Hall - had special visits in the South African villa.

The final four couples were then also revealed during the emotional "meet the parents" episode which saw the remaining Islanders reunited with their friends and family after two months away from home in the hope of finding love. However, after an emotional day catching up with their loved ones and introducing their new partners, the villa was surprised with one final dumping.

The group received a text and were told to gather around the fire pit where they were informed that the public had been secretly voting for the least compatible couple after the Islanders had to turn on their fellow couples and give their choices during their final dates.

The vulnerable couples at risk were Kai and Sanam, Will and Jessie and Lana and Ron after they were voted "least compatible" by their fellow Islanders. And it was TikTok farmer Will and Australian personal trainer Jessie who just missed out on a place in the final of the first winter edition of Love Island in three years.

But back to the family visits and viewers made two observations. The first came when Lana and Ron were joined in the villa by financial advisor, Ron's dad Rodney, and friend Harry, alongside make up artist Lana's mum Rachel and friend Rebecca.

When the time came for both families to meet one another, Ron's dad said: "You make a lovely couple," to which Lana's mum agreed: '"They do, don't they." Ron was then keen to ask his potential future mother-in-law: "Any hesitations about me, what's the impression? Be honest, I don't mind."

Then upon leaving the villa, Lana's mum and Ron's dad shared a hug as he said: "When you see them, you know it's real, the way they look at each other you can just see." But fans were quick to take a jibe at Lana and Ron's romance, which has had its rocky moments during the series before they made it 'official'.

Despite appearing to be married to their own respective partners, @jennifertwum97 tweeted: "Ron & Lana’s families have more chemistry then Ron & Lana themselves #LoveIsland." @witchthetea posted: "How are people watching this and thinking Jessie & Will have LESS Chemisty than Ron & Lana. It's wild. Ron's dad & Lanas mum had more chemistry. They are so dull!! #loveisland." @missfeve quipped: "The real tea is Ron’s dad and Lana’s mum have more chemistry with each other. #loveisland."

And it was Tom's sister who fans think would make a great Love Island contestant when the show returns in the summer. Semi-professional footballer Tom was visited by his younger sister Laura, as well as his mu, despite the influencer being based out in Dubai.

@anjolaoluwaxo tweeted: "Why didn’t they bring in Tom’s sister as a bombshell then? #loveisland." @JoiaRaquelx said: "Tom’s Sister belongs on love island as a bombshell #loveIsland." @Heckyofficial added: "Tom’s sister gonna be in this summers Love Island guaranteed #loveisland."
