ITV Love Island viewers accuse Adam Collard of stirring the pot after Luca Bish and Gemma Owen row

Things appeared to have been going well for Luca Bish and Gemma Owen in the Love Island villa until the pair had a bust up on Tuesday night. The fishmonger from Brighton and international dressage rider from Chester have been coupled up since the early days and have remained rather strong ever since.

After first being put in a couple with Paige Thorne, Luca, 23, had his sights set on Gemma, 19, since the start. Michael Owen's daughter was initially paired with Welsh personal trainer Liam Llewelly after the public put them together but was soon stolen by Italian bombshell Davide Sanclimenti.

Luca and Gemma soon chose to couple up and their relationship developed quickly. Despite a couple of spats, such as when Gemma hinted her head could be turned if someone "100% her type" entered the Majorcan villa, they are both yet to be tempted by other Islanders.

Even Casa Amor couldn't split the couple up as Luca slept outside on the daybeds and Gemma walked back in alone to reunite with the 23-year-old after spending time apart.

In recent weeks the couple even exchanged the all-important three words after going on a romantic date outside the villa. The pair were the first to drop the L-bomb on the ITV2 dating show after they told each other 'I love you'.

But after Tuesday night's Mile High-themed challenge, Gemma and Luca's relationship now appears to be on the rocks.

The light hearted task saw the female Islanders dressed as cabin crew as they rallied around an assault course preparing the boys for departure, giving them a full safety briefing and offering refreshments before joining their chosen passenger for a private 'Mile High Club moment'.

The aim was to be crowned the sexiest flight attendant therefore the girls had to bring out their best performance for the boys.

Tuesday's challenge caused friction between Gemma and Luca (ITV)

During her attempt, Gemma licked the chest of former series four contestant Adam Collard and danced on the laps of her fellow Islanders.

But it appeared that Luca wasn't best pleased with what he saw, as following the challenge, Gemma and Luca came to blows and the fishmonger eventually stormed out of the villa.

As the pair exchanged some heated words by the campfire, Gemma told Luca: "You were pushing me off, had a face like a slapped a***, are you 12?" and told him: "You can sit here and say you're not in a mood - you're in a mood."

But Luca responded: "No, I'm not in a mood," before later backtracking and saying: "It's obviously not nice to see, but it's a challenge so I can't exactly stay annoyed at you for it, it was just literally..."

Gemma then interrupted: "So you can't exactly 'stay' annoyed at me for it? So you were annoyed at it?".

Luca then accused her of looking into every word he was saying and then he said: "F*** off Gem," before walking out of the villa and throwing his mic.

A short while later the couple tried to reconcile on the terrace, but appeared to be getting nowhere. This was just before Paige received a text asking all of the islanders to gather at the fire pit.

A further text then revealed that three couples are at risk of being dumped from the villa which comes less than a week before the show’s finale on August 1.

As things appeared to be rather frosty between Gemma and Luca as they sat around the firepit, viewers took to Twitter to accuse one Islander of stirring the pot and making their row much worse.

During the thick of the argument, fans of the ITV show said that serial bombshell Adam could be heard telling one thing to Luca and another to Gemma.

Taking to Twitter to share their thoughts, one viewer @pippajane_ wrote: "Adam’s a lil b***h. Says one thing to Luca, another to Paige and another to the confessional."

@ghstofdrws tweeted: "Why did Adam say he was turned on by Paige getting frisky with other men in the challenge then turn around to Luca when he was trying to justify his behaviour towards Gemma and say “to be fair I wouldn’t be impressed either”.

@prettyminaxo said: "Adam is such an instigator," as @punk_kiid added: "Adam is stirring the pot ever so discreetly. Interesting."

@ReeReeReenie tweeted: "Adam is messier than Ekin-su...says one thing to a man's face then talks/expresses the complete opposite behind their back."
