ITV Love Island under fire as fans spot problem with Gemma Owen's lapdance

Love Island was under fire as fans spotted a problem with Gemma Owen's performance.

Michael Owen's daughter is competing on this season of the popular ITV dating programme. Tonight's episode saw the return of the heart rate challenge.

The racy game sees the boys and girls perform raunchy routines to see who raise each other's heart rate the highest. The Team GB dressage competitor is coupled up with Luca Bish and she set her partner's heart rate highest with a lap dance.

Jacques and Dami's heart rate was also raised the highest by Gemma's routine. However, Gemma's inclusion in this season of the show has been the subject of controversy as she is aged just 19 years old.

Viewers following the show on Twitter said they were made to feel "uncomfortable" during the episode.

Noodle posted: "Did anyone else feel uncomfortable watching Gemma, knowing she's literally a teenager?"

Heather added: "It’s so uncomfortable for me to see Gemma do this challenge and then to have the guys get excited over her…SHE IS LITERALLY 19!!!!!"

Damiyah commented: "I couldn't watch Gemma's dance. I felt so uncomfortable..."

Orla tweeted: "Nope I’m uncomfortable watching Gemma"

@sozluv commented : "I feel uncomfortable watching Gemma only bc of how much younger she is"
