ITV Love Island's Tasha Ghouri claps back as Andrew Le Page gets 'cute' sign language tattoo for her

Love Island's Tasha Ghouri was quick to clap back at the negative comments after she unveiled her boyfriend Andrew Le Page's latest tattoo. The loved-up couple, who recently moved in together, made it all the way to the final of the ITV2 dating show over the summer and have remained inseparable ever since.

And fresh from a romantic trip to Dubai, it appears Andrew was keen to get another permanent tribute to his girlfriend. Model and dancer Tasha, who was the villa’s first deaf contestant in 2022, took to Twitter to show off her man's new inking which is a message in sign language.

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, Tasha shared an image of the tattoo on the back of Andrew's arm and explained how the hand sign inked on Andrew's body reads: "I love you." The poignant tattoo also features a cochlear implant, which she uses to allow her to hear after she was born deaf.

"So Andrew came home and surprised me with his new tattoo, I actually can’t even!!!!!!!" she tweeted alongside the images. "How beautiful it’s “ily” (I love you) in BSL (British Sign Language) with my cochlear implant wrapped around."

She also clarified the sign is in American Sign Language (ASL) but is commonly used in BSL. Tasha added: “There is another way to sign ily in BSL which is what me and my dad did to each other when he came into the villa. But both can be used in bsl as I know both."

Fans were quick to rush to comment but not everyone was kind. "It is bloody awful!!!!" one wrote to which Tasha, 24, was quick to fire back: "And do we care? Nope." The original commenter tried to justify the remark by adding: "Just looks like a kids drawing. I get the meaning of the tattoo. Just a shame it wasn’t a bit more tasteful."

But Tasha didn't respond again and revealed in the positive comments as fans were left feeling emotional by Andrew's latest dedication. @oheyitsmolly said: "Omg Tasha this is everything." @tandrewsupdates commented: "Oh my word!! this is so beautiful!! genuinely so thoughtful."

@hannahw879 wrote: "No this is actually so cute." @lils_priv_lol posted: "I knew i was right to vote for you both. This is so precious." @em_jem_ shared: "This is so sweet oh my goodness." @shaunac1704 admitted: "Literally crying omg." @megan2523341566 added: "Nah guys you’re gonna have me out here crying."

Andrew shared a picture on Instagram of him getting the tattoo at the London Social Tattoo parlour and told his followers the new ink has a “special meaning” for him. He headed to the same tattooist where the pair previously got matching roses in August. While Tasha had the dainty inking behind her ear, Andrew added his to his hand.

Later explaining the reason behind their matching ink, Andrew explained in a video asnwering fans' questions on Tasha's YouTube channel: "When we were in the villa we were talking about what we’d want, not our final date, but what we’d like a date in. Tasha actually said, ‘I would love a hotel room where you come in, and there’s loads and loads of roses,’ and this was before our date."

Love Island viewers saw the pair have a Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker-inspired date which saw them dine among roses shaped into a heart ."Obviously, our date happened, and we had literally thousands of roses, and it was kind of like a sign, we were literally talking about this," Andrew added in the video.
