ITV Love Island's Paige Throne reveals unaired Jacques comment during Casa Amor fallout

Paige Thorne has revealed she knew Jacques O'Neill had been with other girls before the dramatic Casa Amor recoupling during this year's Love Island. The 24-year-old finished the ITV2 dating show in fifth place, just missing out on the final, alongside Adam Collard.

The pair hit it off and became 'exclusive' during their time together in the Mallorcan villa after Jacques, 23, made a dramatic and emotional exit. The former rugby player and Paige, a paramedic, went through a rocky patch after he kissed Cheyanne Kerr in the famous TV villa while she was on a girls' trip to Casa Amor.

In a dramatic recoupling, the pair decided to come back to each other but it wasn't smooth sailing as Paige discovered what Jacques had been up to. And their relationship never recovered as in emotional scenes, Jacques quit the villa to 'get back to himself' after struggling with the fallout from the show's annual twist.

Paige went on to strike up a relationship with bombshell Adam Collard, who made Love Island history by being the first islander to make a surprise return to the villa. And since leaving, the pair have become 'official', confirming they are now boyfriend and girlfriend in their first joint live TV interview last week.

But she has also been speaking out about her experience in the villa and told former islander Toby Aromolaran on his podcast Fancy A Chat? that she had twigged something "bad" had happened before even returning to the villa after their time apart. Paige said: “I knew it was going south when I was last to go in for the recoupling.

"I was sitting in that car park saying, ‘boys if I'm getting mugged off in here I'm walking’. I was going off before I even went in there. I knew it was going to be bad." She continued to share how their was an unaired moment in which Jacques told her that he had 'tested' himself.

"I had the biggest smile on my face walking in," Paige told Toby. Then it was the comment as soon as I sat down, he went, ‘I've tested myself by the way’ and I knew." She added: "[I thought] I'm going to kill him. It was fine, it was expected. It's what the show is. He's a young guy."

The way it played out on-screen was that host Laura Whitmore asked Cheyanne whether she thought she'd being going home or remaining in the villa. “I felt like I had a connection with someone. I suppose my version of a test is different to someone else’s,” she said. When asked who she had a connection with, she responded Jacques.

"He said he can’t trust himself, shared a bed," she continued, explaining Jacques’ behaviour in Casa Amor. Laura then asked if she thought she would be standing up rather than sat with him, Cheyanne said: "I weren’t sure but I know Paige is a nice girl, hope he treats her nice."

Paige is now loved-up with Adam (ITV)

Paige and Jacques have now deleted all traces of each other from their Instagram accounts leaving no pictures documenting their coupling on the hit show. It came after Jacques issued a lengthy statement on Thursday apologising for his behaviour. Gemma Owen's ex-boyfriend said "there is work that needs to be done on myself" and that he is "not asking for sympathy." Jacques' statement comes after fellow Islander Remi Lambert made a post in which he claimed he felt picked on by Jacques and Luca Bish.

The post was also liked by fellow Islander Tasha Ghouri who has since unfollowed Jacques on social media, as has her boyfriend Andrew Le Page.
