ITV Love Island's Adam Collard's exes Zara McDermott and Rosie Williams react to return

It's already been a chaotic series but Love Island 2022 isn't messing around with its latest twist. A brand new week in the villa started on Sunday night (July 10) with the fallout from Casa Amor far from over.

Andrew Le Page, Jacques O’Neill and Dami Hope all found themselves in hot water earlier in the week after the contestants were reunited for a recoupling following the girls’ stay in the second villa which every year tests the contestants loyalties to one another.

Andrew and Tasha Ghouri, who were the show’s only original couple, both chose to recouple with new arrivals Coco and Billy Brown after Andrew discovered Tasha had doubts over her feelings for him. Despite Andrew attempting to rekindle things with Tasha, there was trouble in paradise after the dancer discovered Andrew had withheld information from her concerning an intimate moment he shared with Coco.

Dami was also working hard to win back Indiyah Polack, telling her “I miss us a lot.” Indiyah reacted positively to the news, and while speaking in the beach hut said: “My heart is with Dami.” The pair subsequently called things off with their partners Summer and Deji Adeniyi.

And Jacques continued his attempts to win back Paige Thorne after it was revealed he kissed Cheyanne Kerr while Paige was away in Casa Amor. The episode also saw the dramatic moment islanders discovered the British public had been voting for their favourite couple.

After gathering at the firepit, all but two couples discovered they were safe from the vote. Dami Hope and Summer Botwe, and Jay Younger and Chyna Mills, have been left vulnerable to being dumped from the villa. But just as viewers thought that was the end, they were teased with the news that former islander Adam Collard is returning to Love Island in a dramatic twist for the hit ITV2 dating show.

Adam is back! (Instagram)

He is no stranger to the show after being a contestant on its fourth series in 2018. At the end of Sunday night’s episode it was revealed that Adam will be returning to the villa as the latest bombshell during Monday evening’s show. Speaking ahead of his arrival in the villa, Collard said: “I’m going to ruffle a few feathers when I go in.”

Four years ago, Adam entered the villa on day one and coupled up with Kendall Knight. However, he quickly dumped her for Rosie Williams. He went on to couple up with Zara McDermott, before his head was turned once again in Casa Amor to Darylle Sargeant. However, Adam and Zara actually got back together and had a relationship in the outside world but split after eight months.

And both Rosie and Zara have already reacted to seeing their former flame back on-screen. Reacting to a video on Love Island's official Instagram page, Zara, who is now in a relationship with Made In Chelsea's Sam Thompson, wrote: "You’re joking me," alongside a string of crying laughing emojis.

"They winding me up?" Rose then replied. And it appears as though Rosie isn't too impressed with the decision. She took to Instagram to post an image of her looking extremely unimpressed alongside the caption: "Tomorrow night..." Rosie followed up her post with a pic of her and Zara laughing alongside the caption: "I'm just sorry we don't got popcorn."

And Zara's first reaction was even captured on camera by her boyfriend Sam who is also a big fan of the show. "Who’s this guy? Who’s this absolute animal?" Sam is heard asking in the video as he filmed the television screen. As Adam turned around, he revealed: "It’s your ex-boyfriend!"

Zara was clearly shocked (Instagram)

Zara's jaw dropped to the floor as Sam spun the camera to show her visible shock. She then screams and laughs in shock before holding her head in her hands. Sam can then be heard saying: "Oh my god, this is the best series ever!"

On top of the video, he wrote: "Don't think I've ever seen her face light up like that for me," with three laughing emojis. He also captioned the post: "Can’t tell whether I’m excited or terrified." The post was soon being flooded with crying laughing emojis from former Love Island stars and fans.
