ITV Love Island reunion gets awkward as Curtis and Amy reunite after split

Love Island finalist Curtis Pritchard suffered an awkward moment on the interview couch as he met Amy Hart for the first time since their split.

Asked whether they would still be together had they not been separated when the female contestants went to Casa Amor, Curtis paused - even though his new partner Maura Higgins was sat alongside him.

He attempted to laugh through the awkwardness on what was his first meeting with Amy since their dramatic break-up.

Curtis had earlier taken to social media to discuss the reunion.

Taking to Instagram ahead of the ITV show, he said: "Obviously I am going to being seeing Amy for the first time, so...yeah...

"I don't really know what to say about that!" he gulped on his story which was captioned 'it is what it is'.

Maura then piped up: "He has spoken to her, so it's all good."

Curtis then takes a deep breath and says "Yeah. It's good."

Amy was already sat with host Caroline Flack when Curtis and Maura were invited alongside them.

Amy, who had left the villa "heartbroken and humiliated" after Curtis dumped her, admitted she had watched the show back and it had brought her to tears, telling Caroline: "I'm quite dramatic, aren't I."

She said her life had changed since she had left the hit ITV show - saying people had shown their support for her and naming an appearance on Loose Women as a highlight.

And she said she had not been surprised by Curtis and Maura making the final, describing them as "very nice people".

But the mood changed when she was joined by Curtis - who she greeted with by saying: "Oh, are you going in the middle?" when he sat next to her, leaving him sandwiched between her and Maura.

Referring to the split, Curtis said: "It was a hard time, it was not the best thing that ever happened but hopefully we can be friends, I would like to be friends in the future."

Amy responded by saying she left the villa as she just wanted him and Maura to be happy, with Maura adding the "past is in the past".

But the tension rose when Caroline asked whether Curtis believed he would still be with Amy had the pair not been split by the Casa Amor separation - during which Curtis began to question his feelings.

He paused, bringing a chorus of "ooo" from the audience, before saying he believed his doubts would have emerged regardless.
