ITV Lorraine viewers divided by Prince Philip funeral segment

Lorraine viewers have hit out at the coverage of the Royal Family on the ITV show on Tuesday morning, as Royal editor Russell Myers discussed the potential return of Prince Andrew to the fold.

On the show on Tuesday morning, Ranvir Singh questioned the inclusion of Prince Andrew into the memorial of father Prince Phillip, as she asked Russell: "The Queen with Prince Andrew on her arm was the only photograph, and it was meant to be a remembrance of Prince Phillip.

"Why was he there, why is there any question mark at all over whether he'll be publicly paraded at the Platinum Jubilee as well?"

Russell replied: "Well, you are totally right, these are huge question marks and it's an important year for the Queen, for the monarchy, the Platinum Jubilee celebrations."

Ranvir interjected and added: "It's meant to be good!"

Russell continued: "Exactly, celebrating 70 years on the throne, and going back to last week, that service was a thanksgiving memorial for Prince Phillip as they were unable to have a proper funeral at the time.

"That should have been the only thing we were talking about at the time, and yet, when we heard that Prince Andrew was going to be escorting the Queen into WestMinster, well that was the only thing that we ended up discussing."

Viewers of Lorraine took to social media to question the inclusion of the under-fire royal into the celebrations of Prince Phillips life, as one Twitter user said: "Everybody knows that Andrew Windsor will never be accepted by the people again. #Lorraine"

People also defended the monarchy's actions, with one tweet reading: "#Lorraine @lorraine Prince Andrew I was shocked to see him walk the queen, but she is a mother, she cares about him, Charles will be king in due course…"

Another wrote: "#Lorraine It's the Queens decision as to who she chooses to attend. No ones opinion matters. So no debate here. Thank you i rest my case."

One Twitter user said: "#Lorraine Waiting for them to blame Harry and Meghan for Prince Andrew trying creep his way back. @rjmyers"

And a further comment even claimed: "When the Queen goes - Andrew is toast. #Lorraine"

Lorraine resumes each weekday on ITV from 9am onwards.
