ITV Lorraine's Ranvir Singh slips up moments before chat with Corrie's Laura Neelan star Kel Allen

Ranvir Singh was quick to address her error as she made a bit of a slip up before interviewing Coronation Street star Kel Allen. The actress, who plays Laura Neelan in the ITV soap, was on the show to discuss her final scenes.

As Corrie fans know Laura returned to the cobbles earlier in the year and told her daughter Kelly, played by Millie Gibson, that she was dying and after initially not believing her, the teen became her mum's carer before she moved in with her at Gary and Maria Windass' flat.

But last month there was a huge twist when Laura discovered that Gary was responsible for killing her husband Rick, who has been missing since 2019. As she prepared to go to the police with the information so she could get Rick's money to leave for Kelly when she dies, Laura had a change of heart and confessed to her husband's murder.

Kelly is now refusing to see her dying mum in hospital and the guilt is clearly eating away at Gary who continues to visit her.

On Wednesday, Kel appeared on ITV's Lorraine to chat to Ranvir about her upcoming final scenes. But just moments before their chat, the presenter made an error.

"Corrie's Laura is next. We've been having a big chat haven't we," Ranvir said addressing Kel, who looked stunning in a green jumpsuit and sat opposite the host in the London-based studio. "Lot's to talk about but you're not crying though this morning," Ranvir added.

"No I'm not," Kel replied. "I've got my makeup done which is great," she added as Ranvird laughed: "What a turn up for the books it is for you," before adding: "More from Laura in a minute..." and introduced the competition segment.

But just as the camera was cutting away from the studio Ranvir was heard saying to Kel: "I just called you Laura," with a laugh. Then, upon returning to the studio for her interview with Kel, the usual Good Morning Britain presenter said after a montage of her guest's Corrie scenes appeared on-screen: "Kel Allen is here... I called you Laura."

Kel laughed and confirmed she did in fact call her by her character's name before Ranvir went on to style it out by saying: "You must get that a lot right? You are now Laura to everybody... friends and family probably as well."

The soap star replied: "Some people just stop me in the street and go: 'Laura, Laura' and initially I was like, 'Is this me?' and then I'm like, 'it is, just say hello.'"

Ranvir went on to talk to Kel about Laura's current storyline before discussing the true emotions felt on set during filming her final scenes on the cobbles. After an emotional clip from Corrie played out showing Gary, played by Mikey North, at Laura's bedside, showing her photos of Kelly alongside wife Maria's son Liam, Ranvir said: "Oh my goodness. That isn't your final scene on the show is it... What was it like in the build-up to your final scenes?"

Kel said; "Those final days it was literally emotional scenes... big ones. Me and Mikey, we're normally laughing on set together ad everything, but we'd be looking at each other and welling up. All this emotion would come because we knew that these big scenes were coming.

"Filming that scene just then we were just going. We were like someone needs to put a camera on us and film quickly. Production, the crew was crying. We were all just having a little cry over the scenes for Laura and just how sad they are with Kelly, Gary, and everything."
