ITV Lorraine explains why show dramatically 'went to black'

Lorraine viewers were left puzzled on Wednesday as the TV screen appeared to temporarily "go black" during the show. But the presenter later clarified exactly what had happened. The jarring moment came around 15 minutes into Wednesday's show and lasted around 20 seconds. After the ad break, Lorraine explained what had caused the issue.

She told viewers: "Now, I should tell you, when we were talking to Delia - wasn't that a brilliant conversation? - you lost us. I think you all lost us for about ten seconds, we went to black. Slight technical problem. All sorted out now. So we should be fine."

Taking to Twitter, one viewer was left baffled. "Erm... Where's #lorraine gone?" they asked. Commenting on a Mirror article about the issue, another quipped: "I know, it was awesome."

The "technical problem" happened when Lorraine was interviewing Delia Smith about her new book. Delia was cut off as she told Lorraine: "What you've just said actually. For people to recognise the depth they have..."
