ITV Loose Women viewers praise Jake Quickenden as he bares all live on air after own family tragedy

Jake Quickenden has been flooded with praise as he bared all live on Loose Men for an important cause. The former X Factor and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here star appeared on the programme on Friday (November 18) as it underwent a shake-up.

Instead of the usual Loose Women viewers are used to seeing on the panel, fans of the ITV luncthime show were instead greeted by Vernon Kay, Ade Adepitan, Olly Murs, and Larry Lamb, who took over the show for an all-male special. As well as the usual discussions, the show also wanted to raise awareness for cancer.

And Jake was brave enough to strip off in front of the panel, the live studio audience and those watching at home in order to undergo a testicular examination, conducted by GP and Good Morning Britain and Lorraine regular Dr Amir Khan.

It comes after Jake, 34, lost both his father and brother to bone cancer and previously appeared on The Real Full Monty in 2020 to raise awareness of the disease. Jake's father Paul died in 2008 and, two years later, his brother Oliver was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and he sadly lost his battle with the disease in 2012. Just a year later, Jake suffered his own scare after finding a lump on his leg and quickly had it checked out.

While chatting to the panel, Jake revealed he only went for his first full-body check-up six months ago, admitting to being scared for years to face the state of his health. The father-of-one said: "I lost my dad and brother to cancer, so for me not checking is a way of just putting it to the back of my mind.

"Sometimes I think if I checked and I felt something I'd be so worried, so for me, it was out of sight, out of mind. But as I've got older, I've got kids now, it makes me think that is a stupid thing to do, we need to be talking more, we need to be checking more.

"I had my first check up six months ago, I'm 34, and that was a big step for me to even do, an MRI, everything checked and bloods checked, and I felt quite proud.

Dr Amir carried out the examination on Jake live on air (ITV)

"The reason I'm doing this is if this helps one person, that's all that matters," he added to Vernon, Ade, Olly, and Larry. Dr Amir then carried out the examination, explaining each step and in a matter of minutes it was all over and done with. Dr Amir added: "Jake is incredibly brave for doing this on television."

And viewers were quick to agree. @AlishaValerie tweeted: "#LooseMen | I think it's so fab that @JakeQuickenden has been brave enough to receive a testicular examination from @DrAmirKhanGP live on the show - well done Jake!!" @islandofangels said: "#loosemen @JakeQuickenden well done Jake ..you’re a star for doing that on TV."

@make__diff posted: "#loosemen Massive respect to @JakeQuickenden for doing a live #testicles examination with @DrAmirKhanGP on the show.
