ITV Loose Women's Gloria Hunniford returns to panel after being hospitalised for shocking eye socket and leg injuries

Gloria Hunniford has returned to Loose Women after suffering a fall earlier in the year during which she sustained awful injuries to her face and legs. The 82-year-old revealed that she had broken her eye socket and was sent to hospital, sharing images with the shocked panel on the ITV lunchtime show.

Before showing the graphic image of Gloria's injury to her leg, host Jane Moore issued a warning to viewers. Upon seeing the picture, Judi Love and Brenda Edwards gasped. Gloria, meanwhile, said: "Thankfully the ambulance was able to bring the skin over, otherwise I would've lost a lot of skin,"

The presenter told the others how she had also "cracked the bone under [her] eye," during the injury but was on the mend and "as long as the muscle holds it in place, [she] should be ok." Gloria, 82, said that she was in need of a "Phantom of the Opera" mask to hide her injuries.

Despite being a "confident person", Gloria told her fellow Loose Women that she was "very worried about a clot forming in [her] head." She described how she didn't know where she was when she woke up.

Gloria appeared to be in good spirits that she was back on Loose Women. "I've always worked and want to come back to do what I've always done, what is normal. I feel safe," she said.

Loose Women airs on weekdays at 12.30pm
