ITV Loose Women's emotional tribute to co-star's son Jamal Edwards following his death at 31

Jamal, the son of Loose Women panellist Brenda Edwards, was just 31 when he died after a 'sudden illness'.

The Loose Women had a very emotional tribute to Jamal Edwards MBE (ITV)

Charlene and Judi visited and comforted Brenda just hours after the death of her son who was a very successful music producer and entrepreneur.

Becoming emotional Charlene said: "Any of you who regularly watch the show know that the love Brenda had for both Jamal and daughter Tanisha was massive, her heart was full of so much love for those children. So you know just how shocked Brenda is and just how hard it has hit all of us who knew him."

Judi, who joined the panel to help present the show and pay her respects and love to Jamal and Brenda, was also very emotional, she said: "People see us on Loose Women, we are Loose Women, we get on but it is so much bigger than that, the friendships that we build outside and the support that we give each other."

Charlene added: "We just wanted to be psychically with her and Tanisha and to give them all the hugs and love that we could possibly give them."

The Loose Women also spoke about how Brenda's privacy was taken away from her when Jamal's death was announced on social media before she could break the news herself.

Still very emotional Charlene said: "Which is not fair in any shape or form... what people have to understand is there is work-life and there is family life and there is home life. And it should have been Brenda who was able to choose when she wanted the world to know about her loss and that was taken away from her."

Charlene began to cry as she read out Brenda's statement about her son's death, which you can read here.

Fellow Loose Women star Linda Robson was also emotional when she spoke about how Jamal helped her son, Louis, break into the music industry.

The Loose Women went on to credit Brenda for her success in raising Jamal.

Meanwhile, another Loose Women star, Gloria Hunniford, who lost her own daughter, Caron Keating, at the age of just 42, posted an emotional Instagram message saying: "Have not got the words to explain how deeply saddened I am at the news of the passing of Jamal Edwards.

"He was such an inspirational and talented young man and I am heartbroken for his devoted mum Brenda whom we work alongside on Loose Women.

"All our thoughts and prayers are with Brenda and her family at this devastating time."

Loose Women continues on ITV on Tuesday, February, 22 at 12.30pm.
